Description of Work
The post-doctoral fellow will be involved in: a) developing a conceptual model linking network features (both drug use and social connections) to addiction, overdose risk and health problems; b) analyzing the network and behavioral contexts that predict increased risk for overdose and addiction; and c) developing an epidemiological simulation that can be used to evaluate the potential for epidemics to arise in a rural drug-using population.

Minimum Required Qualifications
The candidate will have a Ph.D. in sociology, behavioral health, public health, epidemiology or a related area. Promising candidates at the ABD stage will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Interest in social networks, drug use, and the health risks associated with drug use. Ideally, they should be comfortable with advanced statistical models, as well as working with complex datasets. Experience with network data is a plus, as is any experience with epidemiological simulations or statistical network models.
